My five year old sorts out his school queue issue
I am feeling happy and proud that I finally seem to be getting my five year old to sort out his own issues. This year he has had to deal with a new and bigger playground and the proceedure for when he goes into school in the mornings is different. He has to line up in front of his teacher when the whistle blows. The first few mornings he ended up crying because him and another boy in his class wanted to be the first in the line and so there were words and pushing going on. After explaining, away from the playground, the concept of taking it in turns, he decided to resolve the issue himself. He came home the next day and said, ‘Me and the boy have made an agreement. We are going to take it in turns so every other day I get my go and he has his so there will be no more arguments’. I thought that was very mature of him. I hope that nobody else wants to be the first in the queue as I am not sure they will be able to solve that one. The Kids Coach

That’s so great because he sorted it he will probably be really invested in this turn taking. I guess if you had told him to do it he probably wouldn’t. What a great life skill he ihas leanrt ast such a young age. problem solving at 5 ! Some poilticians should take note! Well done for giving him the space to sort it out
