Every day is a new day and provides a fresh start. Whatever happens, there is always the next day to make things better or to make things right. This is something we need to teach our children so they do not get stuck in the past.
Children often get stuck in their thoughts and will find it hard to move on. They have a bad day. Something happened at school – maybe they fell out with a friend or they got told off for misbehaving in class. They may get upset with themselves for what they did.
Make a Better Tomorrow
It is no good for children going over in their minds how mad or upset they are. The best thing to do is to talk about what happened with them and discuss how they can put it right or what they can do better tomorrow. This may be a new thought that they need to have or an action – something they need to do differently. They need to go to bed knowing that tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning. A new start.
This can also be applied to parents too. When we fight or shout at our children we need to forgive them and forgive ourselves and move on. Together we are all learning how to be a better person and how to be a better communicator. Maybe put up a sign in your home that reflects this new thinking and will help everyone to leave behind situations that have not been so good in the past.
Its all about a better tomorrow.
