Wouldn’t the world be dull if we were all the same?  - we looked the same, liked the same activities, were no different to our peers and even had the same opinions. No-one would ever argue or would they?

I contributed to an article last week about a woman who was bullied because of her red hair. It struck a chord with me because I have auburn hair and it is unusual but I was never picked on because of my hair but I knew several other children who were.

Read all about Rachel’s story http://www.allabroadbaby.com/bullying-will-names-never-hurt-them/3871 and my advice about what you can do if you are being bullied for being different and tell me what were your childhood experiences of not being the same as everyone else. What did your parents and teachers tell you to do?

Great blog Naomi and agree with you about the world being a dull place if we were all the same. I was bullied terribly at school, whether that was because of the way I looked or the trainers I was wearing. I dont recall the school doing anything to help and the bullies even happened outside of school. My parents went to the Police in the end as it was getting too much. I dont have any children (have 2 nephews) and I personally wouldnt tollerate bulling – The schools do not seem to handle bullying too well … sending the person home for a day doesnt really help!

    Great advice in the article.

    Thank you for sharing.

Bit of a weird response from the school – sending a child home. I am glad you liked the article and think that some schools are better than others at handling bullying just like some children who know what to do and don’t let the bullies beat them. Kids are cruel but we need to love our differences. Thank you Louise for commenting.
