How Often Do You Use Humour With Your Kids?

If there is one thing children love its humour – mum or dad joking around making them laugh. Humour is an amazing way to bond and communicate with your child. It can be used:

1. To make a situation less serious

2. To diffuse situations

I was discussing humour the other day and when I think of it I use it to get my children out of a bad mood, use it to get them to eat, use it when they or I make mistakes or have a silly accident.

You have to be careful though. You don’t want to sound like a constant joker but if you have the choice of getting angry and possibly shouting at your child humour is much better option as it takes the heat out of a situation.

When do you use it and do you use it often enough?

great article Naomi…I absolutely love to use humor! a very valuable lesson regarding humor that my kids are learning is to laugh at themselves. This has helped bring humility into thier lives, not take stuff so seriously and it has transformed their relationships @ school…

Great article, thanks for all you do!
