Secondary School Transition Workshops
This workshop is for year six children who are making the move from primary to secondary school. It provides children with as much information about secondary school as possible and it is a great platform for children to address and allay any fears they have about making the transition. Having a group of children all the same age really works as they can share their experiences of primary school and discuss how they would approach any ‘tricky’ situations they may find themselves in at secondary school.
Every aspect of change that secondary school brings is discussed from making new friends to getting lost and homework to new teachers.
The workshop is very interactive, fun and supportive and the children leave the workshop realising that moving to a new school is not as daunting as it seems.
There are upto 6 children in each workshop. A vegetarian lunch of pizza and fruit will be provided. All the workshops are home-based and held in Barnet. The hours of the workshop are 10am – 1.30pm.
The next transitional workshop will be on 15th July 2012. The cost is £75 or if you book before 10th June it will be £60. If you book your child on two workshops the cost will be £120.
