hands creating love heart

Every day is a new day and provides a fresh start. Whatever happens, there is always the next day to make things better or to make things right. This is something we need to teach our children so they do not get stuck in the past. Children get stuck in their thoughts and will find it hard to move on. They have a bad day. Something happened at school – maybe they fell out with a friend or they got told off for misbehaving in class. They may get upset with themselves for what they did. Parents need to be helping their children to move on as its not good for their mind to be ‘stuck’. It can be all consuming and they are unable to focus on other things which would make them feel better.

Helping Children To Move On Thoughts

It is no good for children going over in their minds how mad or upset they are. The best thing they can do is to talk about what happened and discuss how they can put it right or what they can do better tomorrow. This may be a new thought that they need to have or an action – something they need to do differently. They need to go to bed knowing that tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning. A new start.

This can also be applied to parents too. When we fight or shout at our children we need to forgive them and forgive ourselves and move on. Together we are all learning how to be a better person and how to be a better communicator. Maybe put up a sign in your home that reflects this new thinking as this may help everyone to leave behind situations that have not been so good in the past. Its all about a better tomorrow and helping children to move on and leave the bad stuff behind.

To help children move on and gain new thoughts a few coaching sessions will do this. You can get in touch with me here.
